Skadi’s Forage - Wild Forest Berry & Bee Polen Blend
Named after Skadi, the Norse goddess of winter, mountains, wilderness and the untamed northern landscapes. In Norse tradition, Skadi represents resilience, self-reliance and a deep connection to nature. Inspired by the forests and berry-covered landscapes associated with the North, Skadi’s Forage brings together four simple wholefood ingredients: bee pollen, wild bilberry, rosehip and juniper.
Unlike isolated vitamins or synthetic supplements, this blend is made entirely from wholefood ingredients. Nature packages nutrients together with fibres, pigments, flavonoids, organic acids and countless other plant compounds that have evolved alongside the foods humans have consumed for generations.
Bee Pollen
Collected by honeybees from flowering plants, bee pollen is one of nature’s most nutrient-dense foods. It contains naturally occurring amino acids, trace minerals, fatty acids, enzymes and flavonoids.
Bee pollen contributes nutritional diversity to the blend and has been valued across many cultures as a traditional food. Its naturally occurring compounds include quercetin, rutin and other plant antioxidants.
Wild Bilberry
Often called the European wild blueberry, bilberry differs from cultivated blueberries because the flesh is deep purple throughout the berry rather than pale inside. This rich colour comes from anthocyanins, natural plant pigments that also act as antioxidants.
Bilberries provide naturally occurring anthocyanins, flavonoids and polyphenols that help give this blend its distinctive colour and character.
Rosehip
Rosehips are the fruit of the rose plant and have been traditionally consumed throughout Europe for centuries.
Rosehip is naturally rich in vitamin C and also contains carotenoids, polyphenols and fruit acids. These compounds contribute to the bright, tart flavour of the blend and complement the deep berry notes of bilberry.
Juniper Berry
Juniper grows across many northern regions and has a long history of culinary and traditional use.
Used sparingly in this blend, juniper contributes aromatic forest notes and naturally occurring terpenes, the compounds responsible for its distinctive woodland character.
